Huge potential for Splattage as this may be, I wondered if anyone has ever rented from Airbnb and what experience they had.
Was told about the site yesterday and looking at a few places in the US it seems really reasonable and a nice change from a hotel/motel.
Yeah there's a risk you might get bum raped by the home owner, but he is taking the same risk from me...

I went B & B in Hawaii in '89. Great experience. But mainland USA? I don't think so.

I stayed in a great place in Majorca but most of the time the owners are pretty gay and if you look hero you get blanked.
If you look gay no probe though.
Expect lots of Vegan chocolate parties though.

I've booked a couple of places and everything seems good at the moment.
I just thought i'd check out Vegas, i'd planned to stay on the strip but thought I might find something excellent close by... they have a number of suites in strip hotels?
Is that right?
How can they do them so much cheaper?

Have used this in Norway, Croatia, Turkey, Hungary and Austria. Would only ever consider using this over a hotel or BnB. Far often much cheaper, and you get a whole apartment instead of just a room. If you read the reviews carefully, you can work out what type of place it is. I tend to avoid those which are someone's live-in place, which they just rent out when they're away on holiday. I prefer those set up for air BnB. They're clean as hotel rooms, and you have everything you need. Towels, milk in fridge, etc.
A friend who backpacks, and doesn't mind staying in shitty places, also uses Airbnb for the cheaper options. If you're just looking for a bed for the night, it's about the same price as a hostel, and often not too bad.

Of course you have to be registered with the City for these numbers to come into play,which 90% of the Air bnb's here in SF are not.

We've used it in Paris, Tokyo and Dubrovnik. 3 amazing apartments with perfect hosts.
The missus did go through the options with a fine tooth comb and went for the top rated and with lots of ratings

He has joined them.The apt above me has been Abnb for ages.It's meant to be no more than 75 days a year.
It's everyday of the year.
My place is pretty nice though.
